Please help me to get an understanding of the term führige. My dog's dam's breed survey uses a term that I am at a loss to find a translation. I get the idea that it may mean she is easy to handle and train and with good structure, but I do want to know the correct meaning of the term and its use. Under V. Special Attributes: Führige Hündin mit gutem Gebäudeanlagen.
Thanks for your help,
Patti
Hi Patti,
you're right, this is exactly what it means.
best wishes,
Bine
Hi Patti,
in english it's mostly translated with "easy to handle and willing to please" (even in stressful situations).
Thanks! Does "biddable: work, also?
Biddable is a good word for "Fuehrig"

"Easy to handle" is maybe used for a dog that is willing to work because it is willing to obey.
BUT
An "easy to handle dog" does not always mean that it has the necesary "drive" to work.
"Fuehrige" Dogs don't necessarily have the drive either. OP is only looking for a good translation of the term "fuehrig". If the dog has drive or not, is irrelevant.
OK then leave it at "biddable".
